When you’re signed up with us, you get two separate accounts:
- Account Credit (AC) – Your personal cash stash
- Donation Credit (DC) – Your community impact fund
Think of it like having a wallet with two pockets. One for you, one for good causes you care about. Simple!
Account Credit (AC): Your Money, Your Choice
Your Account Credit pays you 5 cents per aluminum can. Counted on the spot. Credited instantly. This is YOUR money to use however you want!
Here’s what you can do with it:
Cash Out to Your Card or E-Transfer
Want real money? I get it! You can cash out your Account Credit directly to your debit card or via e-transfer.
The catch? There's a $20 minimum for cash outs. Why? Processing fees are real, and we want to make sure you're getting the most bang for your can!
Once you hit that $20 threshold, boom — request your payout and the money’s yours. Easy!
Shop the Onsite Store
Not ready to cash out yet? No problem! Use your Account Credit to grab goodies from our onsite store. Think of it as turning cans into… well, whatever we’ve got on the shelves! 🎁
Cash? Sure, But You'll Need to Sign
If you prefer good old-fashioned physical cash (I respect that!), we can make it happen. But here’s the thing: you’ll need to sign a cash receipt.
Why? Accountability and tracking! I need a paper trail showing that you received your hard-earned cash. It’s just good business practice, and it protects both of us.
Your signed receipt confirms you got paid, and we keep a copy for our records. Win-win! ✅
Donation Credit (DC): Recycling with Purpose
Now here’s where things get really cool. 💚
Your Donation Credit pays you 6 cents per aluminum can, yep, that's one whole cent MORE than Account Credit! That’s because Empteez.ca boosts your giving (hello, 10% bonus energy) and we love a good community win.
But there's one important rule: Donation Credit is strictly for donations. You can't cash it out or spend it on yourself. It goes directly to local causes, community organizations, and fundraising initiatives.
Why the Extra Cent?

You'll always have a clear record of where your earnings went and when. No surprises, no confusion. Just crystal-clear tracking of your recycling impact!
Important: We're Not a Charity
Here’s something I need to be super clear about: Empteez.ca is NOT a registered charity, and we do not provide donation tax receipts.
Why not? Because legally, we can’t! Canadian law requires specific charitable status to issue tax-deductible donation receipts, and that’s not what we are. We’re a recycling service that facilitates donations to local causes — but we’re not the charity ourselves.
So while your Donation Credit goes to amazing community organizations, you won’t get a tax receipt for those contributions. Just wanted to be upfront about that! 📋

- Your current Account Credit balance (AC)
- Your current Donation Credit balance (DC) (example: $27.78!)
- Transaction history for both accounts
